This year, for the first time, COMELT is represented at the NPE and shows its latest innovation, a high-technology extrusion die, the coflex 800 mm. „With this die, we are reaching the next level of technology in automatic high precision profile adjustment during production“, explains DI Dr. Friedrich Kastner, CEO / Managing Partner COMELT.

Die width up to 3.000 mm, flexible product thickness adjustment within seconds
Because the coflex offers, especially for film producers, many advantages, who require fast, but stable profile adjustments during production. The adjustment of the product thickness is realized within seconds manually or automatically, the coflex adjustment range is +/- 3.0 mm. The central fast adjustment of the lower die lip is extremely precise, smooth and convinces by low maintenance. This die stands out by a very fast reaction time and large adjustment ranges at reduced energy consumption as well as the automated flex lip.

With the coflex, customers can optimize the quality of their products with simultaneous maximisation of the machine up time. By means of the automation, set-up times can considerably be reduced. Moreover, due to the perfect thickness profile, raw material can be saved.

The maximum COMELT die width is 3,000 mm, the maximum temperature range is 350° C.

Customization instead of standardisation as one of the numerous advantages for customers
The team of the Austrian COMELT convinces by customizing. Dies and feed blocks are customized to customer requirements – on the highest technical level.

Of course, with our individual dies, we focus on the optimisation resp. maximisation of the quality and productivity of the customer production lines – according to the motto: We support our customers to realize future products already today“, says Dr. Kastner. Therefore, the topic sustainability, that means the possibility to also process recycling material with COMELT dies and feed blocks, is very important.

The extrusion tool company Comelt, well-known for highest precision and manufacturing standards, offers the entire process from design, 3D renderings, simulations up to mechanical manufacture in-house.

COMELT slot dies – wide range of applications
In general, COMELT slot dies convince by its high flexibility regarding material and die design. Furthermore, they cover a wide range of applications and are available from 150 mm up to 3,000 mm. Depending on the requirement, the dies are made of standard or chrome steel. On request, COMELT also offers different coatings such as chromium nitrate.

The range of products of the company includes mono, coex and multi-manifold slot dies as well as feed blocks, sheet and blown film dies and spinnerets. Moreover, for our customers, numerous features and options are available, such as restrictor bars, deckling, auto die system for thermal bolts etc.

During this year`s NPE, for the first time, the entire NGA Group is represented at the booth.
